A Musical Legacy

Keith Satterfield, better known as Satt, is a distinguished bassist, writer, arranger, and producer. As the eldest son of the renowned bassist and trombone player Louis Satterfield, Keith was practically born into music royalty. Under his father's guidance, Satt was exposed to the rich heritage of blues music and iconic sessions at Chess Records in Chicago, featuring legends such as Muddy Waters, The Four Tops, Howlin' Wolf, Willie Dixon, and Koko Taylor.

In his early teens, Keith had the privilege of witnessing the rise of the supergroup Earth, Wind & Fire and The Phoenix Horns, where his father played a significant role. This unique musical backdrop inspired Keith to further develop his talents, leading him to form his own band and tour the country, sharpening his skills in both performance and production.

The passing of his father and mentor in September 2004 marked a pivotal moment in Keith's life, symbolizing the passing of the torch. After years of dedicated practice and honing his craft, Keith established SattMusicGroup with the collaboration of some of Los Angeles's top musicians. His unique style and approach to music have set a high standard of creativity, reflecting the influence of the exceptional artists he has admired over three decades.
